To Do List

This is a list of things i am considering for future versions. Let me know on the forum of any suggested features or changes (or bugs if any!).

Scheduled for version 2.1:

• Connect to network drives/UNC paths with credentials
• Progressive backup pruning feature based on multiple age brackets.

May do in later versions:

• Fix Windows Service module
• Setup program to allow exception in Windows Firewall (for 2 instances prevention and AutoVer UI to Windows service communication)
• System tray to summarise number of running watches and errors.
• Editable comments for each file version
• Option to use Volume Shadow Services to copy locked files.
• Support Windows 7 Libraries (One of the reasons I had to bump the .NET requirement from .NET 2.0 to .NET 3.5 SP1)
• Language support
• Support encryption of backup files (you can use a TrueCrypt volume for your backup folder in the mean time) or copy to folder level zip files with password
• Add context menu entries to Windows Explorer ("Compare to Current", "Restore", "Protect", "Comment" and "Open AutoVer Here")
• Support Subversion
• Visual indication as to how big the change is between versions.
• Maybe add graphic file comparison
• Maybe add internal file preview
